Awesome Real life learning

A Group of Room 9 boys have been reading about how things are made.

To further their exploration of this idea we arranged for them to construct and build a kitset desk by themselves without any adult intervention, using the instructions and their own amazing skills. They were a little hesitant at first in their own abilities but with determination and a can-do attitude they gave it a go and made a nice strong standing desk that is now an envied piece in our classroom.

The boys had to work together, follow all the instructions, work out how they were going to get the right piece in the right place and way.

Luca- I just wanted to get in and try all the pieces like a puzzle. When it was all out though it was too confusing.

Ashe- Making the others follow the instructions was tricky at first but once we read them all it was easy peasy.

Jack- it takes ages to build a desk.

Paige- the boys worked really hard and talked about the next step well.

Jeremy- I found it quite easy to put it together, just getting the team on the same step was tricky.

Ashe- glad we had the instructions next project please.

Jack- the marble rolls off it, it is not level

Jeremy- i can fix that just need to adjust this leg here and i think we have it.

As you can see in the video here they did an amazing job.
