The effects of time passing are part of our daily lives. Room 11 observed the passing of time when the seasons changed from Summer/Raumati to Autumn/Ngahuru. All around us we could see the glorious display of deciduous leaves changing colours. We were amazed at the patterns and colours we could see while having a close up look at the leaves.
Tegan found this spectacular leaf leaf
Room 11 was inspired to create the colours and patterns that we observed. To do this we combined drawing with crayons and pastels with painting using dye. The children explored space organisation, warm and cool colours, straight lines, thick lines, repetition, and contrasting colours. It took nine steps for the children to complete their paintings.
