To encourage a love for reading, we had an exciting dress-up day where the children arrived at school dressed as our favourite character from the books they love to read. To encourage a love for reading, it was a great way to start our Scholastic Book Fair which was set up in our school hall at the same time.

Reading books exercises our brain and develops a child’s imagination. The use of oral language to talk about the characters in the story, the setting and what they think the message of the story is, helps improve concentration, vocabulary and language skills.
