Our teachers arrive back at school for the start of the New Year only to find it is no ordinary Teacher Only Day. The Principal, Mrs Boss E Britches, has organised a road trip to help teachers understand that the way we educate our students needs to change for the unpredictable future.
Thanks to the Board of Trustees and the bus driver Mr Frizzle (Ms Frizzle's brother), the staff set off on an epic adventure through time to observe education throughout the ages and to imagine what it may look like in the future.
The script was written by teachers Ange Painter and Olivia Graham, with a mixture of comedy and historical facts, there was something to entertain all ages.
All of our 343 students had an on-stage part in the production. The children's talents and costumes were amazing. The evening shows were sold out with matinee sessions very well supported. Students performed their dress rehearsals last Tuesday where Rest Homes and Kindergartens attended.
Our bi-annual Production has once again been an overwhelming sellout success. I believe this is a result of positive connections and relationships with our students, their families and the wider community. I chose the theme of 'Changes in Education' as this is a relevant topic nationwide, and with mixed views, I saw it as an opportunity for our students to show the changes through drama and dance. And as a result, students took ownership and their enjoyment was evident on stage. There was fantastic support from our families and community and great to see happy smiley faces on stage.
