Thank you, Springston School

Room 5 took part in Get NZ Writing, a promotion through Warehouse Stationery and Schoolkit to get promote communication through writing.

Previously our blog ‘Jack is a growly man’ here was about getting our work ready to send.

Our class was linked to a class at Springston School in Christchurch and we received a package from them. We immediately looked up their school and discovered where they are located in the South Island. It was exciting to receive their poster, mauri stones, found poem and postcards.

We read their metaphors with interest and learned all about them. They sound a bit like us. We also laughed when we read a note they sent to say they had lost one postcard and had to photocopy one. We had to do that too, although ours turned up right at the end -- of course!
