We had a wonderful opportunity to take part in the Towncentre Taupo Plywood 3D Christmas Tree Project. These recycled plywood boards were delivered to us ready for painting. A group of passionate designers and painters took on this challenge.
The group talked about some ideas. Our ideas included beach theme, Christmas theme, game theme and our Wairakei logo.
Mrs Griffin used our ideas to create 4 different designs.
We spent 4 weeks painting the trees. There were many challenges when painting on wood. We learnt to control a paint brush and apply paint to the boards smoothly.
Once the boards were finished they were picked up and taken to the center of town for display.
I love painting. It was fun painting to Christmas trees. I can’t wait to see them in town.
