STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM uses hands-on learning activities and creative design skills to solve meaningful problems.
As part of our Push Pin Inquiry into India Room 11 and 16 looked at the flag for India. The students had to colour in an Indian flag using the correct colours. Next, they had to make a pole for their flag. Their challenge was to make the longest flag pole.
This challenge had specific rules. The children were in groups of 3. They had to work together as a team.

I liked making the flag pole but it was hard to make the ice block sticks stay straight.
