Riding for Development

Riding for Development is provided for children who require alternative learning programmes during school time. Riding for Development, is held at the Poihipi Road Centre, Taupō.

The children attend RDA each Monday morning from 10:45a.m. to 12:15p.m. and are transported to the center by our Teacher Aides. Each child has their own horse and is trained by a skilled riding instructor.

The children are involved in hands-on learning style activities which are increasing their coordination type skills as well as their social skills. We have found that students who attend are more settled, able to cope and are achieving within mainstream schooling.
