Resources include readers for students, in-class resources, and assessment tools.

These will aid in providing both students and teachers with the tools they need to ensure reading success within the classroom.

Wairakei Primary School would like to thank the community for getting in behind this fundraiser and helping to support the development of the book resources. Without all the practice, family support, and generosity from our whanau we would not have the ability to purchase as many books as we can.

Students were presented with appreciation gifts for their efforts in spelling and fundraising at a special assembly.

With the arrival of the new books at school, students were keen to get their hands on them and see all the different subjects and stories that were available. Plenty of big books were also acquired and these will be great resources for teachers in class. With independent reading kits, both non-fiction and fiction texts, and decodable readers Wairakei Primary School reading resource room has well and truly had a boost thanks to our wonderful community and students.

I am passionate about our students, teaching and learning, particularly in the areas of literacy, digital technology, physical education, and the Arts. I believe that forming positive relationships with students and whānau are at the heart of success for everyone.

I enjoy Wairakei Primary School for the whānaungatanga and maanaakitanga where close connections between staff, students, and the wider Wairakei community are fostered and enjoyed.
